September 7, 2009 Norm Veliquette on the cherry business
"There is great variability in year-to-year production of cherries, far far more than in most food crops, mostly attributable to our far-north location as a fruit growing area. The cherry industry, growers and processors, have agreed (not unanimously, but by major majority) on a plan to deal with this variability." Complete article

April 27, 2009 FIT for Michigan
Interest is high here in Michigan to create a feed-in-tariff (FIT) system to promote an increase in renewable energy sources. If the state legislature adopts FIT, anyone (business, school, homeowner, etc.) would be to contract with a local energy utility to sell the electricity produced by an alternative energy source at an attractive price – for as long as 20 years. This bill would create thousands of energy entrepreneursin Michigan.More info on feed-in-tariffs
